Ammonites are an extinct group of cephalopods that entered the fossil record 400 million years ago. This specimen is an 11.02" polished Cleoniceras fossil from Madagascar.
This particular genus of ammonite had beautiful suture patterns that cross their shells like feathered jigsaw pieces and make fantastic display pieces. There is a very small fracture on the side of the ammonite, as pictured. We are taking extra care to ensure this specimen ships safely. An informational card is included with this fossil.
